Sold for $52k. I see that it was purchased in Japan but is LHD. Any idea of where it was sold originally?

Probably Japan. Although the country is RHD Japanese consumers buy LHD European cars because it is cool or something. A lot of desirable Euro cars including plenty of Mercedes weee LHD.
